Considering how important a gaming controller is, it’s very surprising that most PC gamers still use the free keyboard and mouse that came with their PC. Unlike video game consoles that come with a dedicated controller ideally suited for the experience, store bought PC’s tend to come with very basic keyboards with little or no extra features besides the Caps Lock key. These free keyboards are typically suited for light word processing use only but because they so easily become a fixture on the desk, the thought of replacing it doesn’t really ever spring to most people’s mind.

I can’t believe we’re finally at the end of Guybrush Threepwood’s latest adventure already. Episode 5 of Tales of Monkey Island is here and I can tell you now Guybrush isn’t in for an easy ride this time around. Before I get into this Tales of Monkey Island review I do want to warn you once again that you will see spoilers for the previous Tales of Monkey Island episode, so if you’ve not played that yet, it’s time to do so.

We’ve arrived at the penultimate episode of Tales of Monkey Island from Telltale Games and boy is it a shocker. It’s okay, don’t worry. There are no spoilers of episode 4 here but if you’ve not finished episode 3 yet then you may want to pass on by. So as you should remember; Episode 3 of Monkey Island ended in yet another cliff-hanger with Morgan Le Flay once again betraying her hero (and ours); Guybrush Threepwood.

Welcome to yet another review where I begin by reminiscing about my favourite childhood home computer, the Commodore Amiga. Yes it was around 1992 or 1993 when on this magnolia coloured jumped up electrical typewriter; I played the original Secret of Monkey Island. Since the original Point and Click adventure we’ve seen three sequels of which I have only played one; the Secret of Monkey Island 2. The third and fourth titles were released on PC at periods of time where I wasn’t able to enjoy them and sadly I’ve not gone back to play them yet.

Real time strategy games have never been my favourite game genre and if I’m honest I’ve only played a handful in the last few years. I tend to prefer more lightweight RTS games such as Pikmin or Mega Lo Mania. I just couldn’t get into Command and Conquer and the many others that were popular on the PC during the late 90’s. Empire Total War comes from the Creative Assembly crew that bought us recent console game Stormrise as well the other more well known Total War games such as Rome and Medieval.

Point and click adventures are like unpaid tax demands; years go by without any and then three come along all at once. So after my recent reviews of Evil Under the Sun and Sam and Max I wasn’t thrilled about having a third long adventure to play through but let’s find out if my apprehension was justified or not in my review of Ceville for PC.
Ceville is a mouse driven point and click adventure set in a fairytale land called Faeryanis. You take control of a rather short dictator named Ceville who is a bit reminiscent of Lord Farquar from the movie Shrek (but much nastier). It just so happens that your evil assistant Basilius has coaxed the citizens of Faeryanis to revolt against you and your Napoleonic rule so that he can become King.
